Spending the night on the red carpet, Emma Stone and Penn Badgley were side-by-side at Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto, Canada on Saturday evening (September 11).

The "Rocker" chick and her "Gossip Girl" actor co-star were in town for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of their new movie "Easy A" - which hits theaters on Friday, September 17th.

Talking about the movie, Miss Stone recently spoke with the Orlando Sentinel about being drawn to her character in the Will Gluck directed comedy flick.

Crediting her father's influence, Emma said, “My dad was always hipper than me, which is why he showed me all those old John Hughes movies. I’ve been watching and memorizing those films since childhood.”

With numerous John Hughes films being paid homage in "Easy A", Emma continues, “Ferris Bueller’ was my favorite. My character in 'Easy A' loved it just for the big dance number, but I think the whole thing is brilliant. Cameron, Ferris’ [downtrodden] friend, is just one of the most brilliant characters ever put on screen. That’s genius writing.”
